Meet Dr. Lisa Jacobs
I am a board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist licensed in NJ, NY, and CA. I specialize in working with patients with ages 10 to 30 struggling with focus, mood, or anxiety.
I graduated from Cornell University magna cum laude and went to medical school at Brown University. I completed my adult psychiatry residency at the University of Pennsylvania and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Stanford University, where I serve as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. I also hold a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Rochester.
My Journey
I started my private practice in 2018 in Palo Alto, California, while completing a fellowship in child psychiatry at Stanford University. I immediately loved being able to give patients as much care as they needed and to be available in ways that I could not as part of a system. It was incredibly gratifying to see how fast people could get better and to develop close relationships with my patients.
Based on this experience, I decided to pursue private practice full time after the completion of my fellowship. It was one of the most rewarding decisions I have ever made.
In 2022, I relocated to New Jersey, where I grew up and where my family lives. I opened an office in New York City in 2022 and an office in Montclair, NJ in 2023. I see patients in person at both offices and continue teaching at Stanford and my work with the Pegasus Physician Writers at Stanford remotely.
